Sheetal Maya Nanda

Adjunct Professor Sheetal Maya Nanda teaches Sports & Entertainment Law at Lincoln and is the founder and principal lawyer of Quantum Law Group. As Project Principal of the Sport Equity and Justice Program, she’s passionate about tackling systemic barriers in sport and amplifying athletes’ voices.  Her unique blend of legal and scientific experience fuels her interest in athlete legal empowerment and the complex issues surrounding athlete health and wellbeing and safety in sport.  

Favourite Sport: Soccer

Sehej Matharoo

Sehej Matharoo is a third-year law student at the Lincoln Alexander, who brings together his passion for sports and law to advance equity in athletics. Last year, he co-founded the WNBN competition, recognizing the critical need for legal expertise that champions women athletes' unique circumstances during a pivotal moment for women's basketball in Canada. Favourite Sport: torn between basketball and soccer.

Sehij Kang

Sehij Kang is the co-founder of the WNBN competition and a passionate advocate for equity and representation in sports. Growing up playing hockey and soccer, Sehij has always wanted to be involved in any capacity, driven by a deep love for the game and a commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for all.

 

Favourite Sport: Hockey

Charlotte Chen

Charlotte Chen is a third-year law student at Lincoln Alexander with a strong interest in the business aspects of sport. She is passionate about promoting equity, transparency, and accountability within athletic organizations. She is excited to contribute to the Sport Equity Justice Project and advance conversations at the intersection of law, business, and sport. Her favourite sport is hockey (Go Leafs Go!).

Morven Caesar

Morven Caesar is a first-year law student at Lincoln Alexander School of Law. She has a background in psychology and specialized in sport psychology research. She also trained as a varsity rower at Trent University and has spent years coaching athletes. Morven is excited to bring her experience to the Sport Equity Project. Her favourite sport is hockey!

Maasilan Vigneswaran

Maasilan is a massive nerd when it comes to sports. Despite not having a lot of free time, his desire to follow more sports continues to grow with no end in sight.

 

Favourite Sport: Like asking a parent who their favourite child is, he feels bad choosing one. But if he had to chose, it would be soccer, with baseball being a very close second.

Nour Habliza

Nour is a 2L who is passionate about navigating complex problems with an interest in corporate and sports law. As a former basketball coach, Nour passionate about educating athletes on their rights. He loves playing basketball and is a big fan of the Los Angeles Clippers!

Rex Wang

Rex C.H. Wang is a first-year law student at Lincoln Alexander and a Sociology Ph.D. candidate at York University. He has long been fascinated by the legal dynamics of sports as well as its modern social dimensions. He aims to bring a intersectional lens to the Sport Equity Justice Project that aims to further the discourse around the socio-legal impact of sports in contemporary society. His favourite sports are hockey and basketball.

Arvith Jhirad

Arvith is currently a 1L at LASL with a passion for advancing equity in health and sport. Drawing on her research experience, clinical background as a Registered Nurse, and commitment to strengthening community engagement, she aims to help create more just, safe, and inclusive spaces for athletes. Her favourite sport is soccer!
